SOLSC DAY 5
Today’s post is serving as Day 5 post for SOLSC and as my monthly Spiritual Journey Thursday post. Thans to Leigh Anne Eck for hosting this month. Leigh Anne asks us to reflect on strength. You can find her post here.
Strength is a word that encompasses so much. There is physical strength. There is mental strength. There is spiritual strength. Each important in its own way.
Lent is the perfect time for us to grow our spiritual strength. Many of us give something up during these 40 days hoping our faith will grow stronger. Some of us decide to do extra good deeds during these days as a way of growing stronger in our faith.
Many times, when faced with a challenge I think I cannot bear I remember the words of Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through him who strengthens me. This gives me the courage to face my fears and try.
When times are rough and we are facing pain in our lives besides our faith, we need to rely on the strength of others to see us through. What seems unbearable becomes less so when others are there to help carry the burden.
I find strength in my church family. We are Saturday afternoon church goers and we know the usuals. When someone is going through difficult situation and asks for prayers, we are all more than willing to give them.
God give me strength.
Searching for strength
Thinking, “I can’t face this.”
Realizing there is One to whom I can turn
Eliciting His help
Not thinking twice about it
God is always there
Trusting He will hear
Helping me when I need it most.

You are so very right in your describing strength as “a word that encompasses so much” Your prayer is from the heart.
Thank you.
I love the acrostic, and to be honest, I didn’t catch it at first becuase the ads separated it. Like you said, strength has so many facets, and I am loving where this one little word is taking me. I still have much work to do, but I know who to ask to help me.
This was a great topic especially for the Lenten season. There were so many tangents to go on with this word.
Bob, a beautiful actostic! Like you, I am strengthened by my church family. It’s a blessing to pray for each other.
I agree, Ramona. There is strength in numbers. With many people praying, that strength is multiplied/
I agree with you wholly. Thank you.
Thanks.
Amen! Philippians 4:13 has always been one of my go to verses, especially during the months when my husband was on sub patrol and we had zero contact. It was my son’s mantra during the months he fought cancer. And his son made it his and had the words tattooed on his shoulder.
It always helps me to know that I don’t have to face things alone. Strength is there whenever I ask for it.
There is One to whom I can turn. He makes all the difference, gives us strength. Thank you for words of faith.
How true.
Bob: Thanks for this post and your acrostic poem. I forget to write acrostics, but you have given me a good nudge. I’m also glad you reminded me of the verse from Philippians. I will be teaching Sunday School to a group of 4th graders this week, and I will be relying on this verse. They are a handful! Our church also shares prayers for one another and I find it to be a most beautiful thing. Blessings.
Karen, Group prayer is a blessing and a comfort. I know that people praying for me when I had my bypass surgery is what helped me get through it.
