I just Have to Wait

SOLSC Day 30

Well, I knew it was coming.and yesterday I got the call.  What am I going to do now?  I needed this an now I have to wait who knows how long.  I just got to suck it up and be patient.

When Governor Wolfe closed all non-essential businesses here in PA, I looked at my calendar.  Yep, there it was scheduled for Thursday, April  2 @ 6:00 – haircut.  I knew it was not going to happen.

I got a call from my barber yesterday morning telling me she would call and reschedule when she was allowed to reopen her shop.  I just have to wait.

OK.  My hair is thin and missing in spots, more spots than I like to admit.  I like to keep it fairly short because it doesn’t look too bad that way.  I usually schedule my appointments five weeks apart.  Well, it’s been five weeks since my last from and who knows how it will be until I can get a new one.

Ah, the sacrifices we have to make!  If I comb my hair back instead of over my ears it won’t look so long.  If I use a styling medium I can keep it from just falling limp. I could always wear a knit hat.  Well, I guess my consolation is that I don’t have to look at myself.  Poor Kathy

  1. I had a haircut just before we closed down schools. A week later, everything was closed. My next is scheduled for April 28th. I wonder if I will make it or have to reschedule?

  2. You are not alone! Today, my school is having a virtual crazy hair/hat day! We will ALL fit in without having to do too much.

Love the “virtual crazy hair/hat day” mentioned by the previous reader. Gotta keep it light. I hear you about haircuts! I procrastinated about mine and now? Who knows? Frankly, I love the cap. You rock that (and I’ll bet Kathy feels the same). It’s very “now,” too.

  4. I like the hat! I’ve been thinking about how I will probably have to go back to a headband to keep my hair out of my face before this is all done. Maybe it’s time to just shave your head? Nobody will see it anyway!

  5. This is so funny. I’ve been regretting that I told my hair stylist we could skip the cut last time I got my hair colored. And I’m very grateful my son happens to be growing his hair out now. Perfect time for it!! I think the hat looks quite fashionable!

  6. You are so considerate, thinking of Kathy! Too funny!

  7. You hit upon a serious topic. I have been lamenting not having an appointment with my colorist this week. Grey peeking through brown hair is not attractive so maybe I could wear my hat more. This was a laugh out loud slice. Love your wit.

  8. I’m very happy that my husband and son were able to get cuts JUST before they all closed. So they see good for a while. But I was supposed to have my next appointment on 4/9 and I don’t think that’s happening. So out comes the bushy mop!

At least no one is seeing us look like this!

  9. We are learning to adjust 🙂 I am sure all this will help us.

  10. I like the snazzy hat, you look good in it. Nice to see more than your appendages, lol. .I suspect Kathy is quite enamored of that face. Well, she’s had a couple of years to get used to it by now anyway 😉 Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll be back in the Barber’s chair long before you reach Crystal Gayle status.
