SOLSC Day 21
I was driving down the street.
What’s going on. Look at all of those cars. Are they giving something away? (This doesn’t look like much but it was the last row of the lot.)
I pulled in and parked. Then I noticed the people – three lines. Of course. The first day of Spring. Rita’s is giving away a free Italian Ice to anyone who wants one.
Here is a sign I have been waiting for.
Look at the lines.
Of course we got in line. As we got closer to the window I checked out their flavors of the day.
They had cherry, Kathy’s favorite. That is what she got. For a dollar we also added custard to the ice. What did I want. Lemon is always good. Of course, I also like pineapple. I never tried the blood orange or the Florida orange. They are both possibilities.
Here is my choice – key lime.
Happy Spring!
Definitely worth a wait in a line. The signs that Spring is really hear warm my heart – even if they come frozen at Ritas.
The oine moved quickly so I did not mind the wait.
Wonderful sign! I just wish our weather was a little more receptive!
Well, I checked and last year it was 36 degrees on the first day of Spring. We sat in the car with the heater running while we ate our ice.
This looks delicious! My daughter was stopping by Dairy Queen after a meeting last night for free cone day. Love the sign – ice – custard – happiness!
We were torn between Rita’s and Dairy Queen. Rita’s won. I knew I couldn’t hit both although some people did.
Your slice was part of today’s meandering. I tagged friends who were referenced in the post on Twitter, but couldn’t find you there.
Here’s the post: https://pleasuresfromthepage.blogspot.com/2019/03/sol-2131-come-meander-with-me.html
I am not on Twitter. Haven’t venture there yet. Thanks for the mention in your post.
Love Rita’s way of celebrating spring… Love how it draws people together, and no line grumbling when waiting for a delicious freebie.
Everyone waited patiently for their turn.
Yes! You can always count on Rita’s to announce that Spring is here! Gelatis are the best!
They are my go to treat at Rita’s.
It looks yummy. I started salivating as I looked at that green topped with custard. Here’s to a continuing love affair!
May it never end.
So glad you got your Italian ice! It looks delicious! 🙂
It hit the spot.
Great way to welcome Spring! I had a slice of cherry pie.
Cherry pie with a cup of coffee or tea sounds good to me. Add a scoop of ice cream and I would be all set.
Such a lovely, yummy welcome to spring! 🙂 Love the pictures! Now I’m in the mood for some ritas!
I enjoy a trip to Rita’s during the summer months.
Now that is a unique sign of spring! Looks delicious!
I look forward to it every year.
