Cleaning Up

SOLSC Day 15

Yesterday the sun was shining and temps were flirting with 60 degrees.  The winter has taken its toll on some of the trees in our back yard.  Limbs and branches were strewn all over.

I felt the need to get out in the sunshine and milder weather.  A breeze from the southwest guaranteed a nice day so I donned some sweats, got my work gloves out of the garage and went outside to do some yard clean up.

I didn’t know if I would get everything that fell over the winter picked up and I really didn’t care.  All I cared about was being out in the warm sunshine.

I know March ins’t over and more winter weather may be on its way, but for yesterday it was a nice springlike day.

  1. Good for you! I felt the same way, Bob. Today I am putting away all the snowmen I put up for the holidays and leave until the end of March. But with almost seventy-degree weather today, they are going back in their bin until next December! I am confident that spring has finally sprung!

  2. Isn’t it delightful when the weather starts turning this direction. Who cares if you accomplished everything you set out to do. The weather holds the promise of more opportunities.

  3. Your description of the urge to be outdoors rings true. I did the exact same thing yesterday – put on the work gloves, did yard work, and basked in the warm weather. It was delightful!

  4. I am thankful that I am not at home so I don’t feel guilty about not “picking up, cleaning up, and putting away”. Instead I’m dividing up the work needs and bribing myself with outside wandering between bursts of needed work. 🙂

  5. I am hoping that a few warmer days will melt the rest of the snow and I can get out and start garden cleanup. It’s quite a task. I am glad you found a good excuse to get outside and enjoy those springlike temps, and I’m sure the yard looks better for it.

  6. Sounds lovely! Do you plant a vegetable garden or just flowers? I can’t remember.

  7. Glad you got to enjoy the sunshine. We had conferences so I got to enjoy the warm rain from the inside.

  8. Yard work – this is a clear sign of spring.I know some people get an itch when the weather keeps them away from the garden too long. Living in an apartment I have no garden and no desire for garden work. I would like to stroll in the sunshine.

  9. We had some “spring” days, then the temperature dropped and today we got a cold rain with some ice mixed in! Hopefully, it’s winter’s last cough.
