No Real Topic

I am posting late (for me) today.  I had several topics I had thought about as possible posts.  There was the PCTELA conference I attended over the weekend.  I could have written about our trip home from California and the places we stopped.  I could have written about the national quilt show we attended in Philadelphia two days after returning home.  I could have written about Kathy’s upcoming surgery.

None of these things made it as a topic for this week.  I know that I will eventually write about each of them, but not this week. I could have written a post earlier and then just publish it today, but that didn’t happen either.

Although it is no excuse, I think I am just tired.  Last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday I was at a leadership training to learn the duties of the president (which I become in January) of the local chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (DCPASR). Wednesday there were things that needed to be done around the house. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I was off to the annual Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts (PCTELA).  I am on the PCTELA Board and I look forward to this conference every year.  More about this conference at a later date.

Sunday was a day of rest. Monday I knew I had to cut the grass because the rest of this week was lost to appointments.  Today Kathy had her pre-op blood work and consult.

Maybe next week I will get my act together and have a more worthwhile post.  Who knows? I make no promises.

  1. Prayers for Kathy…and you, too. Thanks for being here with your writing. The slices will be written in their time. We can wait.

Having read the slices for years I know that many slicers have posts that are about breathing, sorting thoughts, and listing of the possibilities. These are good and necessary posts too, a snapshot of life. Wishing you and Kathy the best.

  3. A friend just asked if this ever happens to me. I said it happens to everyone. I am going to share your post with her.

  4. I’m impressed that you managed to write and publish! I was disappointed that I missed yesterday, thanks to a crazy work schedule and a work project I thought would take one hour and ended up taking four! I enjoyed this snapshot of life and look forward to seeing how the stories are spun into posts in the future.

  5. It is something how those things that shouldn’t take too long seem to take forever to finish.

  6. Sometimes we just write what we have to sort through. That kind of writing is worthwhile. Sending you positive thoughts in the week ahead.

You are awfully busy for being retired, so glad that you have so many fulfilling things in your life! Your life is my wish for retirement! All the best to Kathy–we will pray for her.
