Baptism

On Sunday, our great nephew, Andrew George, was baptized.  Andrew is the first child of our nephew Aaron and his wife Ann Marie.

We congregated in the back of the church since Mass was still going on.  I was amazed that there were six babies who were being baptized that day.  I have only evet attended single baptisms.  I guess things are done differently in big cities.  Anyway, here is great aunt Kathy holding Andrew George.

When Mass was over all six sets of parents, godparents, and families entered the church for the baptisms.  Here Andrew is checking things out while awaiting his turn.

If you ask me, I think he is checking out the others who were being baptized.  He was the only boy.  The other five were girls.  Lucky little guy!

I didn’t get any pictures of the actual baptism because just as I was ready to snap a little girl decided to check things out more closely and she stood right in front of the shot.  Oh well.

Following the baptism it was time for the blessings of parents and child.  First it was the mother’s turn.  Here is Ann Marie with Andrew.

Next came the fathers.

The proud godparents look on.

One final shot before leaving the church.  Here we have Aaron and Ann Marie. Beth Ann ‘ Aaron’s sister and godmother to Andrew. Christopher – Aaron’s brother. Elaine – Aaron’s mother and my sister.

Elaine and Beth both live in Alabama so this was a really nice time to get to visit with them.

One final shot of Andrew being held by his other grandmother, Ann Marie’s mother.

Baptism 2

We are certainly going to enjoy watching him grow.

  3. What a cutie! There are times in our church when we have multiple baptisms, but usually it is a single family. I have never written about my children’s baptism and there is a great story behind it. Thanks for the idea!

  4. Such a strong name for a gorgeous little boy. What a blessing he will be to your family. Sounds like he has so many people who love him and want to spend time with him already. Enjoy every minute. He’s so cute!! 🙂
