SOL March Challenge…Day 14

Yesterday Michelle Haseltine posted a list of 10 things we might not know about.  I liked the idea and wrote in my comment to her that I would have to try this when my well of ideas ran dry.  It has run dry so here is my list of things you might not know about me.

  1. I never attended kindergarten. I spent 12 years in Catholic schools.
  2. The first car I owned, a gold Chevy Nova) I bought just because I liked the color. It was a lemon and there was no lemon law back then.
  3. I was in my late 20’s when I married…didn’t find the perfect partner until then.
  4. I wasn’t really a cat person until Kathy and I got Priscilla. Now I can’t imagine our house without one.
  5. Until I went through the Summer Institute at our local Writing Project site, I did not enjoy writing nor did I consider myself a writer. (There are some days I still wonder about this.)
  6. I am the second of four children. There is not quite a year’s difference (11 months and 13 days to be exact) in age between my older brother and me.
  7. I have a fear of flying and I hate Ferris Wheels and cable car rides, yet I love a good roller coaster.
  8. I am not now nor was I ever athletic.
  9. When I was born I had health problems and spent the first month of my life in a Philadelphia hospital. Doctors didn’t think I would make it.
  10. I play the…oh wait. I think that this one deserves an entire post of its own.  I will reveal this before the March Challenge is finished.

  1. Now you’ve caught me with #19. I wonder what you play. . . Funny about the rides. I am a little scared of roller coasters, but love those other rides–different strokes! I like reading these kinds of posts, fun to hear about others’ lives in a different way.

  2. So many facts to learn, so little time in a month. Did you ever torture your brother by saying you were the same age? My brother would have my number for 3 days, he insisted he was the same age. Drove me crazy!

  3. So…you did not go to kindergarten either! My older sister did…then we moved to the country and there was no kindergarten close enough for me…so my sister would come home every day from school and teach me what she had learned. I am glad you found out that you are a writer! Your posts are always interesting and entertaining.

  4. I love the list. My need to tuck that idea away for the day when I am stuck. Nice facts about who you are. I can’t stand roller coasters but I love ferris wheels. Funny!

  5. We share # 17 and 18 – can’t wait to learn your #19.

  6. Judy C.

Can’t wait to learn about what you play. Great list of little known facts for us to ponder. Somehow I think you knew you were a writer, but never delved into it. Thanks for sharing, but was wondering about the numbering – thought I might have missed the first 9 someplace along the lines.

  7. I am thankful you discovered you are a writer! I have really enjoyed reading your work. You have so much to say and share like these facts. 🙂 Plus you have a great way of hooking your readers and rewarding them when they come back for more.

  8. Terje

I like these lists. It was interesting to learn that you haven’t been a cat person or writer all your life.

  9. A list with a cliffhanger!

  10. I too enjoyed that original post. Thanks for sharing about yourself. Cannot wait to read your cliffhanger’s follow up!

  11. Jaana

When I saw #19 I thought I had missed an entire post (meaning yesterday’s one) that included numbers 1-9! So glad you clarified that for us! No kindergarten for me either. I don’t think it even existed in Finland when I was that age.

  12. I tried this (top 10 list) today as well!! But I only got one comment on mine…
Even tried to post earlier this am…was thinking my late night posts was not allowing enough time for people to comment but that theory didn’t pan out today.
Can’t wait to hear what you play…my list eluded to me playing piano and violin as a child but now I play nothing!!

  13. I love this idea and will definitely have to try it out. I think that this list could be a springboard to so many more posts and like your other readers, I’d love to learn more about your facts!
